Founding editor and board chair of Words Without Borders Samantha Schnee discusses the history and development of the preeminent online publication devoted to literary translation since it was launched in 2003. Quenching a powerful intellectual thirst for world literature, WWB has been enormously beneficial for non-English speaking authors—thirty of whom were discovered by Anglophone editors through publication on the WWB website. The publication has also been a boon for both literary translators and, perhaps most importantly, readers not only in the US but around the world.

Schnee is in discussion with Katy Derbyshire, translator from German; Mui Poopoksakul, translator from Thai; Saskia Vogel, translator from Swedish and German; and Irati Elorrieta, writer in the Basque language.
