Ela Gezen is an associate professor of German at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. At the Academy, she is working on a project entitled “Cultures in Migration: Turkish Artistic Practices and Cultural-Political Interventions in West Berlin,” which is situated at the nexus of cultural studies, history, migration studies, and the study of cultural policy in Berlin during the 1970s and ’80s.
