Jytte Klausen is Associate Professor and Director of Graduate Studies in the Department of Politics at Brandeis University. She has a PhD from the New School for Social Research (1992), and advanced and undergraduate degrees from the University of Aarhus, Denmark (1986 and 1977). Klausen is the author of War and Welfare: Europe and the United States, 1945 to the Present (1998, second ed., 2001); and co-editor of Has Liberalism Failed Women? Assuring Equal Representation in Europe and the United States (with C. S. Maier, 2001). She is co-chair of the Gender, Society, and Politics Study Group at the Center for European Studies.
