Berlin Prize Fellow - Class of Fall 2001 and Class of Spring 2002


The fall 2001 Berlin Prize Fellow Evonne Levy is Associate Professor of Art History at the University of Toronto. A specialist in the Italian Baroque, her work has focused on the controversial Jesuit order. She is the author of Propaganda and the Jesuit Baroque, a revisionist study of Jesuit architecture and the first critical study of “propaganda” as it functions in art history. In 2001 she curated a small exhibition at the Art Gallery of Ontario on Heinrich Wölfflin’s famous Principles of Art History (1915).
