The inception of art is a mysterious event, sometimes not fully accessible even to its maker, says artist Jo Baer. In this discussion between Baer and spring 2020 Anna-Maria Kellen fellow Liliane Weissberg, of the University of Pennsylvania, she describes her approach to painting as a poetic process involving both experimentation and reflection.
