Derek Penslar is the William Lee Frost Professor of Jewish History at Harvard University. At the Academy, he is writing a book analyzing global reactions to the 1947 UN debates about Palestine, the subsequent wars, and the negotiations that led to armistice agreements without a lasting peace.
