Composer and conductor Sean Shepherd’s music has been performed at venues such as Tanglewood’s Ozawa Hall, Alice Tully Hall in New York, the Library of Congress, the Aspen Music Festival, and in London and Geneva. Recent performances include those on the Monday Evening Concerts in Los Angeles and with the Minnesota Orchestra, as well as a New York Youth Symphony-commissioned premiere at Carnegie’s Weill Hall. He is a first-prize winner in the 2005 international Lutoslawski Award and recipient of the Charles Ives Scholarship from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, and as conductor he has presented new work by contemporary composers, as well as his own, in many venues. A graduate of Juilliard and Indiana University, he did his doctoral work at Cornell University.
