Guest Speaker - Class of Spring 2021


Samantha Gross is Director of the Energy Security and Climate Initiative at the Brookings Institution, where she focuses on the intersection of energy, environment, and policy, including climate policy and international cooperation, energy geopolitics, and the global transition toward a decarbonized economy.

 

Gross was a Brookings – Robert Bosch Foundation Transatlantic Initiative Fellow in 2020, and has been a visiting fellow at the King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where she authored work on clean energy cooperation and on post-Paris climate policy. Prior, Gross directed the Office of International Climate and Clean Energy at the US Department of Energy, where she oversaw US activities under the Clean Energy Ministerial. She was also Director of Integrated Research at IHS CERA.

 

Gross holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois, MS in Environmental Engineering from Stanford University, and an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley.
