Lawrence Kaplan is the editor of World Affairs and a former senior editor at the New Republic, where he wrote about US foreign policy and international affairs. A graduate of Columbia University, Oxford, and Johns Hopkins’s Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), Kaplan contributes foreign policy pieces to Commentary, the Wall Street Journal, Weekly Standard, and Washington Post, among other publications. Before joining the New Republic, he was executive editor of the National Interest, the foreign policy journal published by Irving Kristol.
