The Bay of Angels

At the Academy, she will work on her novel “The Bay of Angels,” which incorporates a myriad of forms: fiction, essay, memoir, poetry, and graphics—including drawings, photographs, maps and represents nearly 15 years of writing. She sees “The Bay of Angels,” excerpts of which have appeared in journals and anthologies, as an encyclopedic project, traversing time and space and utilizing a variety of genres and strategies to create resonant and overlapping narrative fields. Maso writes that “The Bay of Angels” is a novel that “grapples with enormous historical, philosophical, mystical, and psychological worlds and revolves around the history and nature of human suffering and the profound human longing for transcendence.”
