Fellows

Each semester, the Academy welcomes a new class of Berlin Prize fellows to the Hans Arnhold Center—scholars, writers, artists, composers, and journalists from the United States, pursuing independent work in Berlin. Since 1998, more than 600 fellows have made the Academy their home for advanced study and community.

    Each year, the Academy awards roughly two dozen Berlin Prize fellowships to scholars, writers, artists, composers, and journalists based in the United States. Fellows receive a monthly stipend, round-trip airfare, and accommodation at the Hans Arnhold Center for a semester of independent work in Berlin.
