PERFORM! 2025
September 10–14, 2025
As part of this year’s Berlin Art Week, the American Academy in Berlin is proud to partner with the Neue Nationalgalerie to present the fourth edition of PERFORM!, a five-day performance festival featuring major works by Joan Jonas, Isaac Chong Wai, vAL, and Yoko Ono. At the heart of the program is Joan Jonas’s seminal work Mirror Piece I & II (1969/2025), performed daily on the museum’s terrace. A pioneer of performance and video art, Jonas is known for redefining the boundaries of visual art, gender, and spectatorship. PERFORM! 2025 also features newly commissioned and recently celebrated performances by Isaac Chong Wai, vAL (Corey Scott-Gilbert), and Yoko Ono.
