Peter Filkins is a poet and translator. His most recent collections of poetry are Augustine’s Vision, winner of the 2009 New American Press Chapbook Award, and Marking Time, which will appear from Johns Hopkins University Press in fall of 2012. He is also the translator of H.G. Adler’s novels The Journey (2008), Panorama (2011), and The Wall (2013), all of which are published by Random House. The recipient of an Outstanding Translation Award from the American Literary Translators Association, and a Distinguished Translation Award from the Austrian Government, he has also received a DAAD Faculty Research Grant in 2011 and will serve as writer-in-residence at the James Merrill House in 2012. He teaches writing and literature at Bard College at Simon’s Rock.
