Mary Ellen von der Heyden Fellow in Fiction - Class of Fall 2015


Anthony Marra’s first novel, A Constellation of Vital Phenomena (2013), was a New York Times bestseller and won the National Book Critics Circle’s inaugural John Leonard Prize. In 2014 it became the first English-language novel to win Greece’s Athens Prize for Fiction. Marra earned his BA from the University of Southern California, an MFA from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, and was a Stegner Fellow at Stanford University, where he is currently the Jones Lecturer in Fiction. His reviews and essays have been widely published, including in the New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, and New Republic. His story collection, The Tsar of Love and Techno, appears in October 2015.
