Simone Donecker studied North American Studies, Art History, and Sociology at the Freie Universität in Berlin and at Indiana University, Bloomington. During her studies she interned at the Delegation of the European Commission in Washington, DC. Simone joined the Academy’s program staff in July 2009. Prior to that she was a marketing and public relations coordinator at CNN International.
