Andrew J. White has lived in Germany since 1972 and moved to Berlin in 2007. He became the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of the American Academy in Berlin in the fall of 2009, and the Academy's Treasurer in 2011. A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, White has had a distinguished international career in financial and general management, working predominantly with American multinational corporations in the technology, market research, and media sectors. White also served for many years as a board member of Lobetalarbeit eV., in Celle, a nonprofit organization serving the mentally and physically handicapped, and the elderly.

He and his wife, Ursula, have two adult daughters.
