Richard C. Holbrooke Discussion

National Security at Risk – Order and Disorder in the Atlantic Space

An evening with Stephen Hadley in discussion with Christoph Heusgen

New challenges and old grievances have put the transatlantic security partnership under considerable strain in recent years. Terrorist threats, hybrid warfare, cyber security, and more traditional issues, such as deterrence and territorial defense, dominate the agenda. At the same time, Atlanticism seems to have lost much of its political self-evidence for many observers and parts of the public. Against this background, the Academy’s Richard C. Holbrooke Forum brings together Stephen Hadley, former national security advisor to President George W. Bush, and Christoph Heusgen, chief foreign policy advisor to the German chancellor, to discuss both the foundations and the policy specifics the Atlantic security arena is facing today.
