The Spring 2017 Program

The spring 2017 public program includes lectures on the self-contained nuclear “plutopias” of the Cold War, the intermingling of science and opera in the Romantic era, identity and analytics in the age of Facebook, and a former executive editor of the New York Times on protecting journalism now. April sees the inauguration of the Max Beckmann Distinguished Visitorship, which welcomes artist Kerry James Marshall to Berlin. Unless otherwise noted, all lectures are free and open to the public; you may register for all public events online.
